Drinks Service

Although most venues that you have a party at will include a bar for your guests to enjoy, if you are having a party at home, offering a drinks service can be a difficult and indeed complicated idea that may leave you scratching your head with confusion.

While at many casual parties it is perfectly acceptable to ask your guests to simply bring their own bottle with them and supply the drinks that they want for the evening, at a more formal function it is proper to provide your guests with their drinks during the evening.

One thing that many more people are choosing to do these days is to have a professional drinks company to supply you with a bar and staff. They will be able to tailor a drinks service that is appropriate to the exact kind of party that you are planning to have. From a standard bar through to a full table service, these companies will be able to provide your guests with everything that they need.

There are a number of different options that are open to you when it comes to making your decision about the kind of drinks service that you are going to offer at the party, it is also important to decide about your budget for the event. At some parties, you may want to purchase all of the drinks in advance, at others, it may be more appropriate to simply provide a drink on arrival. You will need to make it clear to guests about what they are expected to pay for at the party.

With this in mind, you should talk to the drinks company about what their policies are. Some will allow you to fix the bill, perhaps by [paying for the stock in advance and then refunding you the difference at the end of the evening. You could also subsidize the price of drinks for the entire evening. This will allow you to offer the drinks for a much lower price than the company would normally charge without requiring you to pay out the same amount as you might otherwise have to if you were to cover the entire cost.

Many people worry before a party that the guests will be offended if they have to pay for their drinks throughout the evening, however this is not always the case. If people genuinely want to be with you for the night then they will be more than happy to enjoy the venue and facilities that you have provided for them, to relax, enjoy their meal, and even entertainment. They will not be offended about the drink – although it is a good idea to negotiate with the suppliers to get them to offer it to your guests at the lowest possible price.
