Party Preparation

There are, of course, many stages of party preparation. The first one is, naturally, the venue for your party. Where on Earth should you choose to have it? The choices are, inevitably infinite. Should you choose a pub, a beach or even your own house? Should you hire a club, or a caravan or a cottage in the Lakes? Would it be better to cover the carpets to protect them from spills or simply have it in the garden or hire a marquee?
Secondly, you must decide on the date for your party. This stage of the preparation is something that you should concentrate very hard on. Are you celebrating something special or are you just throwing a party because you have not seen your friends for a while? Is it one of those modern, fashionable celebrations of nothing or have you just received some good news? Perhaps you are organizing your party at very short notice and require a venue that can be booked at short notice.
Thirdly you need to think about invites. There are a million and one companies on the internet and on high streets that offer invitation services. These may be professionally designed invites or just expensive stationary. You may think hard about this stage of the party preparation, however, because this can cause the cost to rise quickly before you have even bought a sandwich a sausage roll or a drink.
The next choice is theme. Do you want a wild fancy dress party, a masked ball, an Ibiza club night or just a simple, stylish soiree with a few friends? Once you’ve decided the first three things, the rest of your party preparation should fall into place.
Next you must decide what kind of entertainment you wish to provide. Are you content to have only to prepare your hi-fi and a few albums or do you want to hire a band, a D.J. or even a clown to liven things up.
This should obviously be decided whilst you book a caterer or plan what food you will prepare for your party. Some people may prepare canapés and caviar whilst others will be content with a few butties. Know your guests and also your budget.
Finally, then, the night will arrive. At this point you must decide what you want to wear. Will you be dressing up to thrill or are you happy to slob about in a manky old jumper? Also, accessorize with some appropriate make-up and maybe some ear-rings. Don’t be scared to go crazy with your appearance. Remember, no-one who looks dowdy will stand out. If it’s your party, and you’ve spent months preparing it, make sure that you rule the dance-floor, the dinner-table or even the bouncy castle. You deserve it after all of your hard work and effort – leave everyone else to do their own things.
Whatever you choose to do for your party, and however stressful the preparation is, remember the one golden rule: enjoy yourself and your guests will to.
