Seating Arrangements
A professional party planner is a person to whom you can urn to handle all aspects of the arrangement of your event, and they will carry out a fantastic job on your behalf. They will be able to handle almost all aspects of your party, from arranging the best menu for your guests, through to coordinating the entertainment, transportation, and all of the different aspects of the party in order to allow you to simply relax and enjoy the party when it rolls around.
Of course there are a number of things that are too personal for a party planner to handle, and perhaps the most important of these is the seating plan. Only you will know enough about your party guests to be able to decide who to sit with whom, and what groups of people are best suited to each other. The people that you sit with during a meal will have a huge impact on how much you and your guests actually enjoy their time at the party, and it is a really important to apply some thought into arranging your guests around the tables.
The first thing to think about is whether there are any people who really do not get on well with each other, and ensure that they are not seated at the same table. It may seem strange to start off the day by separating guests from each other, but this actually makes it a much more straightforward job to plan where the guests sit. You will be able to keep the people who do not like each other apart, and this will allow you to sit them with people that will encourage them to talk throughout the meal and have fun.
Once you have decided on the people that cannot sit with each other, it is then time to think about the people who can sit together. Think about which people have got things in common and place them close to each other. Remember that no-one wants to spend all of their time at a party talking about work, so try and avoid putting people who work in the same place together. It is sometimes fun to put people who are completely different at the same table, and to see how they get on. If you have a lot of single friends coming to the party, then you will often be tempted to place them together on tables to fan the flames of romance, however this is not always a good idea unless you are certain that the couples will hit it off.
A final thing that you should remember when sorting out the seating arrangement for your party is to avoid putting a very loud and talkative person n the same table as a person who is very quiet and retiring. This can be an overbearing thing for a shy person, and rather than encouraging them to come out of their shell, it will often have the opposite effect, and leave them too embarrassed and shy to even talk once during the meal. Much better to put the more boisterous people together, and let them have fun, and try and put quieter people in a place where they will be able to have some fun without feeling intimidated by more outgoing people around them.
